At the start of one of the coldest and snowiest winters on record, our host agent welcomed in the New Year with an office move. The Westford Health Department (including the office of the UMV MRC Director) has returned to the renovated Town Hall. This historic facility had been closed for two years for structural repairs.

The office of the UMV MRC Coordinator, plus all MRC materials and displays, remain at the Millennium School facility at 23 Depot Street, for space reasons and for easier access.

Despite the move, our unit was poised to respond during several major snow storms. MRC leaders kept in touch with Emergency Management and other response partners in each of the seven UMV communities. No call-outs were required, as power outages did not last long enough to warrant shelters. However, members received information on how to ensure family preparedness throughout this intense season.
