You may have heard
that the American Heart Association's new guidelines for 2010
include an option for the new 'Hands-Only CPR.' To encourage local
residents to try this life-saving skill, our Medical Reserve Corps
unit is hosting an event this Saturday, Sept. 24, so visitors
can sample this technique for themselves:

| NOTE:
We hope to urge as many local residents as possible to
try this skill (no certification
involved). Will also be promoting Preparedness
Month and general MRC initiatives, inviting interested visitors
to join our unit. |
The goal
of this event is to help people become more comfortable with the
concept, in the hopes that many of them will sign up for a certification
class in the area. Attendees will be provided a list of resources
that offer CPR and First Aid training.
 |
This is not
a CPR certification course!!! Rather, this is an opportunity
for all interested residents to stop by with family members
and see what it feels like to try this skill on a manikin.
We are providing
this event as a community service.
Members will
be on hand to discuss the unit and welcome participation.
In case of questions, please call the coordinator (Nancy
Burns) at 978-399-2549 or send an e-mail message to nburns@westfordma.gov.
Hope to see you
this Saturday afternoon!
